What's Up Wednesday: February Edition

Today, I am linking up with some of my favorite bloggers:  ShayMel and Shaeffer for What's Up Wednesday

1. What I'm Eating

I have had Mexican food 4 out of 7 days this past week... and honestly, I could eat some tacos and guacamole right now. It's my comfort food. A few weeks ago, I shared about our Super Bowl Nacho Party, and it was perfect for snacking all night long.

2. What I'm Reminiscing about:

Summertime. It's been unseasonably warm and if I can't get at least one good snow then I am ready for long & hot summer days. I am ready for it to start getting dark later and for nights to spend with my favorites.

3.What I'm loving

Zack has finally wrapped up coaching... I am loving having him back (for a few months anyways!)

4. What I've been up too:

Zack & his team has had 2-3 games per week so I have spent a lot of time in the gym. I'm so proud of how he has led this group of young men!

This past weekend, my mama got on the radio show during a telethon to talk about her role at Mission Children's Hospital. She's a PA and works with endocrinology and the child abuse unit. Over the weekend, I heard so many stories about how Mission has provided life-saving care at a reduced cost. It is heartwarming to see a community pull together for the kiddos.

5.What I'm dreading:

I am dreading the regular old school things... Midterms, papers & finals!

6. What I'm working on:

I am working on some flat-lays and social media strategies for my favorite store in Asheville :)
I am normally an all white background person, but the blue really made this outfit pop!

7. What I'm Excited about:

I passed the Speech-Language Pathology! Next stop, graduation & licensure! It's been a long six years.  I am so excited to see the light at the end of the long long tunnel!

8. What I'm Reading/Watching:

At the beginning of this month, I was given the BEST BOOK for me... Grace, not Perfection left me in tears because it spoke so much truth to my heart. I related to Emily's Type -A nature so much and her book & lists gave me encouragement about sorting out the most important priorities.
If you need or know someone who needs to let perfection rest and pick up grace, Emily provides a great way to start. & it's on sale at Amazon right now for $8.49!

Emily Ley, Grace not Perfection
Plus it's a gorgeous book!

I'm reading Jen Hatmaker's For the Love... One of her publisher's recently gifted it to me.
I am excited to be back reading again.

9. What I'm listening to:

Apple Music has my heart... It's a free trial and then 1/2 price to college students (with a valid email) for 3+ years!

10. What I'm Wearing:

I am wearing some "oldie but goodies" when it comes to outfits. The weather has been so back in forth lately that I haven't felt like buying winter and my pale legs definitely aren't ready for summer clothes... So I haven't bought much new.

11. What I'm doing this weekend:

Nothing! It feels so good to say that. We have no plans other than church and my heart could burst with happiness. Isn't it the best when you can go to bed without setting an alarm?? It's almost as good as when your coffee pot can self-brew in the morning ;)

12. What I'm looking forward to next month:

My bridal shower! One of my favorite ladies is showering me in so much love. My shower is going to be at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville! My heart is so happy!

13. What else is new?

Not too much! Just wedding planning like a crazy person.. Who knew their could be so many ways to fold napkins?

Bonus: What's your can't live without beauty product?

I cannot live without this! My poor hair hates the winter, and if I wash and dry it too much, it'll get so dry. So to save it as much as possible I have been using dry shampoo. I have to share about Living Proof's Dry Shampoo
It's my ALL-TIME favorite dry shampoo... I have tried all of them Dove, Not your Mothers, Batisse, Dry Bar, etc. This is the best, and it smells like the "beach" according to Zack.

  3. I'm ready for sunny days too but I like them to still remain a bit cold. Dry shampoo is the jammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. And lots of Mexican food never hurts.
