What's Up Wednesday: July 2016

Today, I am linking up with some of my favorite bloggers:  ShayMel and Shaeffer for What's Up Wednesday

1. What I'm Eating

We have been eating the Best food lately.  We ate at the Porch in Winston-Salem a few weekends ago and it was delicious! I am such sucker for Mexican food.

2. What I'm Reminiscing about

Not much! I've been so busy with what I got going on that I haven't had much time to reminisce.

3.What I'm loving

Spending time with these two. I've had sister time every week for the past 4 weeks! I love it! :)

What's Up Wednesday: July

If you can believe it, we didn't look anything alike until a few years ago. People didn't even believe we were sisters. #timesareachanging ;)

4. What I've been up too

We have done races, fourth of July, bowling & many more day trips.  I love how spontaneous this summer has become.

I do have to say, I beat my whole family one game., and then the wheels fell completely off. I bombed the last game... but for a few minutes I was rocking it ;)

6. What I'm working on:

My second ever book review.

7. What I'm Excited about:

Last Monday, Zack took a new coaching position. It was not good timing. It wasn't what I wanted, but God had other plans. This job landed in Zack's lap and a few other things (like college classes) fell into place. I am excited to see how happy Zack is and where this journey takes us.

8. What I'm Reading/Watching

Madame Secretary is my jam. As you can see, I am working on House of Cards, Person of Interest, Criminal Minds, Gilmore Girls & Parenthood. In other words, I am drawn to the crime and family dramas ;)

9. What I'm listening too:

Not much! I have realized every time I go to answer the question, that I am not a music person... So weird, right? I think it's because I appreciate the silence.

10. What I'm Wearing:

Business casual. Here's a quick snapshot of all the clothes I tried on at Loft last week. I have had such hard time finding cute (&comfy) summer business casual that looks acceptable with closed toe shoes. As I was typing that whole line out, I realized how  tall of an order that really was!

11. What I'm doing this weekend:

NOTHING! No, not really. I just don't have anything planned. I am so glad for a break.

This past week was rough... I got into a car crash on Monday. I was okay and walked away from a scary ride into a ditch after I was t-boned. My Memaw ended up in the ER with me on Friday after a fall, and then we went to the funeral of a 7 year old. She is the niece of Zack's boss. My week was rough, but it absolutely pales in comparison to the agony and grief her family feels.
Please keep Mya's family in your prayers this week and the coming months. They take comfort in knowing Mya is completely healed in Heaven. As they adjust to their new normal, please pray for strength.

12. What I'm looking forward to next month:

I didn't really have anything specific in mind, but after my rough week, this rainbow appeared. I knew it would all be okay, and there is always something to look forward too.  God is good, friends.

13. What else new?

Not much!

What was your favorite part of summer?

I can't pick a favorite moment! I have loved that I have backed away from my Type A nature and let Zack take the lead with our plans (even though his plans aren't really plans ). Spontaneity is not my forte, and I am so glad I made a goal to be spontaneous (geez, I just realized how silly that may sound). The best memories are made from moments that aren't planned.

Headed to see what's up in your life!
Thanks, ladies for a fun link-up

  1. You would never know that you and your sister didn't always look alike! I am the same way with music, I rarely listen to it. I think appreciating the silence is probably the reason for me too! I'm so sorry to hear about your rough week and the passing of such a young girl. :(

Thanks for reading, I would love for you to share your thoughts :)
