Let's Talk: Summer Edition

Happy Summer,  Friends!

Let's Talk: Summer Edition

Memorial Day is the first official day of summer in my book. I am so grateful for all the men & women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy!
I have to admit, the current state of our country turns my stomach. When I think of what my great-grandparents, grandparents and other family has sacrificed, it burns my heart up to see where our nation is headed.
Okay, I'm off my soapbox and ready to share about my Summer plans with Erika & Andrea in the Let's Talk series

I love Summertime! My overly anxious heart tends to relax, and I am more in the fly by the seat of my pants mentality.

Summer 2016 will look a little different than the rest of my "college years".  This year I am taking an elective/online course, because grad school. I will also be placed in a clinical setting to work on my treatment hours. I have to have 400 to graduate! I am anxiously awaiting the email to tell me where I'll be. We also don't have a huge beach trip planned, which is unusual for my family. I think we are all going in different directions, so we don't have a good time for us all to be together :(

I am excited that next summer, we will be married! & I will finally be done with school! :) I am so excited that when I was making the graphic above, I originally had put Summer 2017. I wish that was the only time I had gotten the date wrong recently.

Summer for us is filled with day trips, sunshine and friends.
On Saturday, we went to a local lake with my best friend for her birthday. We ended up paddle boating and then out dinner in downtown Asheville after we cleaned up. It was such a great weekend!

Summer outfits for me are basic, and comfortable. I live in shorts and blouses, almost all summer long. My mind is fully on wedding planning mode. So all I want to shop for is related to the wedding.
Right now I am beginning my search for honeymoon clothes now, and I have all the heart eyes for resort wear.

It will take all of my will power not to buy the turquoise cover up and anchor bag before the end of the month.

On Sunday, we went to the mall, and I picked up a few new summer candles. South beach from White Barn (on right) smells like the beach to me. It's sunscreen and salty waves rolled into one.
I have a feeling this will be going all summer long.

I am also shopping for a new sunscreen, I want one that's not greasy or sticky, and a little more natural.
I've heard good things about these brands, but I was hoping one of you would have an opinion about them :)

Finally, my summer wish list includes these rafts. I am dying for one, even if I don't really have a place to use it ;)

Thanks for stopping by! What sunscreen is your favorite? I would love to hear what you think in the comments!
