2015 Re-cap

Happy New Year!

As I write this post, I am sitting on the couch wit curled up with Zack watching football with my family.
My heart is unbelievably full.

My year (2015) began with uncertainty. Would I get into grad school? If so, where would I go? I am such a planner that the unknown was tough for me...
I got into the "big" schools and my family, Zack & I toured the campuses. As we made our visits, I didn't get the "feeling". Something was missing.
In March, I toured the school across the mountains (the old time rival of my undergrad) and something just clicked. I appreciated the faculty's extra effort to know me as an individual.
Fast forward six months, and I begin my journey towards being an SLP.
During the first week of classes, my grandpa passed away. I was upset and worried about missing the funeral. I told my adviser that I may need to miss class. By the end of the day, I had emails from ALL of my professors encouraging me to go to Delaware, and that school would be here when I get back.
I knew that day that God had led me to the perfect school for me. It was such a comfort knowing I was in the right place.

My first day of clinic:

This picture makes me smile & tear up at the same time. The unconditional love my grandparents shared is inspiring.

In the Fall. Zack coached his first game as a head JV coach (and he won!). His football season had its ups & downs, and he finished 5-6? He's already such a great leader and mentor for the players. It'll be a joy to watch his positive impact in 2016.

On Dec. 20th, Zack proposed! After 7 years of dating, I'm engaged to my high school sweetheart. We are planning on a 2017 wedding because we both will graduate that May. The planning as begun & I am already so excited for it to get here.

Thanks for reading my little piece of the blogging world. I am so excited to see where 2016 leads me.
Happy New Year!
