Christmas Break Bucket List

Happy Thursday!

We are only 8 days away from Christmas, and my plans to be done with shopping by the 15th have failed. I still have one more person on my list :) He's the easiest to shop for, but since we are always together, it has been extra hard to sneak some presents in :)

I have realized how fast Christmas break is already going by, I mean I have already been home a week. I wanted to make a Bucket List of all the things I hope to accomplish this Christmas Season.

1. Go look at Christmas Lights

I'll admit it. I am not in the Christmas spirit like I should be...Last week was emotionally tough and the weather is not cooperating with my Christmas plans.
We have plans to take memaw out to see Christmas lights. :)

This was a few years ago at the lake nearby:

This was also pre-blog days, so it's a little blurry :)

2. Anniversary Date

I am so excited about our anniversary this year! It's on a Saturday! Yay! :) Date nights are my favorite.

My favorite picture of us, ever. It was taken at the Biltmore Estate for our 5 year anniversary. My friend Maria (Mia Photography) gets all the credit! :)

3. Christmas baking

It's been requested that I make puppy chow (Zack calls it white trash) for Christmas.
I am excited to get back into the kitchen and spend time with friends and family! :)
Here are a few gems from years past
warning: pre-blog pictures ;)

4. Take Mia to the park

70 on Christmas??? I am not used to that. I know you may be thinking- "this girl is from NC, isn't it warm there?" When you live in the mountains, you never know what you're going to get!
This was our Christmas 5 years ago- we were snowed in for a few days...

5. Christmas Pajama Party

We are going to our first ever Christmas Pajama party, hosted by our best friends. We are so excited to have snacks & decorate Christmas cookies.
If I am completely honest, I am so excited to wear my new Christmas pj's!

I also have these for Christmas day:

6. Ugly Christmas Eve Sweaters

I'm planning to wear my new "ugly" Christmas sweater on Christmas Eve, and Zack is excited to "unveil" his- think Christmas vacation. I can't wait to show you what he picked out!

7. Clean out my closet.

I know, very exciting... It needs to happen! I am hoping to muster up some New Year's motivation and get to work! Fingers crossed...
;)

8. New Year's Fireworks

New Years 2013
I am a sucker for a good fireworks show! I hope Zack and I can head downtown for this year's show... If we don't make it there, I'm sure we will be watching football/Dick Clark's Rocking New Years Eve

9. Shopping Trip

While Asheville is growing, the shopping situation can be frustrating. I hope we can head to Charlotte over break and spend some Christmas money ;)

10. Slow Down

I am not sure if y'all realized this, but I'm a very type-a person. It's rare I can sit still and just "soak in the moment". Over break I plan to be intentional about unplugging and spending quality time with the ones I love most.

See you back tomorrow for Friday Favorites!

  2. I'm with you-- wanted to have all of my shopping done by this week and.. hasn't happened. Haha, I still need to get something for the fiance but he's hard to shop for! 70s on Christmas sounds great! Even though it won't really feel like Christmas.. I would hate to be snowed in for the long weekend! I love your plaid pajama pants! Those are so cute!
