Friday Favorites: e.l.f. Edition

Happy Friday ya'll!

I'm a creature of habit & it has felt great to get back into the swing of things.
Although, I easily adjust to lounging around on vacation ;)

Today I am linking up with Erika, Andrea & Narci to share my favorites from the Eyes. Lip. Face. (elf)  Make-up collection.
I have grown to love their products, especially because they are so affordable (think cheaper than college-girl budget) & their quality matches those of higher brands like MAC & Laura Mercier. (Apparently, studies have been done about this)
;)
I just want to highlight my personal favorites

This collage features some that I have in rotation in my make-up bag, but I will get to others I have tried as well.

1. Primer (see below review)

2. Baked eyeshadow (review below)

3. Brushes (review below)

4. Lip exfoilator- $3, Out of 757 reviews, it has a 4.5 average, here

5. Bronzer- $3, 500 5-STAR reviews, here

6. Tone Correcting powder- $3, 600 5 STAR reviews, here

Elf primer!
Face & eye

Face
$6, here

I would never believe this primer cost only $6. It feels like the Bareminerals version for about $20 less.
It also lasts all day, and holds make-up in place even in the humidity of summer. It is a Favorite for sure!

Eye:
$3 here
$3 here
I had such a hard time keeping my eyeshadow fresh all day long. I tried the $3 eye primer and I was hooked. It held even "cheap" eye shadows in place all day and kept my eyeliner from smudging.  I rarely put eye makeup on with out it.

Baked eye shadow:

$3, here
They come in several colors with just enough shimmer for me. I love the natural shades but they are so affordable you can splurge on several colors to experiment with.

Brushes

$12, here
elf has drawn me in because of the cost. I am learning to live on a grad-student budget and want to make cost cuts where I can.  That being said. Elf brushes are easily affordable. They work well (almost better) than my expensive brushes from Merle Norman. They are certainly a favorite. There is a downfall here though. I have had some brushes break off from the "wooden" handle. In all honesty, it doesn't bother me to much, it makes them easier to fit in my makeup bag ;) hehe Also, I have purchased the brush cleaner which works very well, and I can afford to replace my brushes once a year to avoid bacteria build-up #yesthatsathing

Highlighting Cream

$1,here

Elf highlighting cream is another favorite! PSA it's ONlY $1!!!
It goes on smoothly with a brush or your fingertips and works wonders brightening up your eyes. If your not a morning person either, I highly recommend this!

Blush & Bronzer

$3, here

Elf St. Lucia is the dupe for Nars Orgasm
I haven't tested this personally, but when I searched it on Pinterest thousands of posts came up about this. I loved my St. Lucia palate before I even realized it was a dupe. It's a great blush and blends easily into your concealer. Plus it has over 1000+ 5 STAR REVIEWS!

Do you like Elf products? Do you have any you particularly love? Please share your comments below :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Update: 6/7/15: I was invited to link up with Fabulous & Fun Life's Monday Makeup Madness & I am so excited to see what other members post! :)

  2. Okay, I definitely need to pick this stuff up! I use Urban Decay eyeshadow primer and each tube lasts me forever, like at least a year, so it's not as crazy expensive when you consider that, but still, $3?! I also don't use makeup primer but for $6, why not start now?!
