Monday's in the Summer always seem a little brighter :)
Today, I am linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals to share a few of my favorite hair products.
It can be a chore taming this unruly mane of mine. I am constantly on the look out for the latest & greatest in frizz prevention.
Typically, if I take the time to fix my hair, I wear it one of two ways.
I think the best way to share this is to highlight what I use for different looks.
First, I wear my hair straight.
Which is easy for most people, but it takes me a good while to make this curly mop sleek and shiny.
Right after the shower, I have to start "fixing" my hair.
When I blow dry, I always rely on this to protect my hair from the heat.
Tresemme is a go-to and extremely affordable on a college student's budget ($3.99 @ Target)
Then I use this conair blow-dryer to completely dry. I try to use my brush to get it as straight as possible before using the flat iron.

For straighteners, I use the wet to straight by Conair because it does the best job. I know the Chi seems to be the go-to, but it doesn't seem to work well with my hair when I have tried it. After straightening, I apply hairspray to hold it from humidity.
This is currently my favorite kind:
The second, (and my more natural) look is curly.
This is my current go-to because it puts less damage on my hair. My hair is naturally curly, but unruly, so I tend to it a little.
I take showers at night if I am going to do curly, and sleep with my hair damp. As soon as I get out of the shower I comb through with my wet brush and add the Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls. This brush is a lifesaver!
If I feel like it needs it, I use my diffuser to get the moisture out. I put it in a top-knot.
When I wake up, I hit it with the diffuser again to get all the moisture out. I will put in hot rollers on the bottom layer to set while I do my make-up, and then take my styling wand to the top & front layers because they're a little to short for the rollers. ( You may be thinking hot rollers? Is she a mamaw?? hehe, they work so well for this thick hair, that I can't resist them)
I take the rollers out after they cool, or right before I leave the house. I shake my hair out a bit and spray so it won't fall too much.
For shampoo and conditioner, I prefer the Argan oil products. But I am not loving this brand. It seems like it is watered down. I am searching for a new "favorite" shampoo & conditioner... Please feel free to leave any suggestions in the comment box ;)
Check back this week to read all about my Florida vacation.
